My Chemical Romance are a band that are known for their exceptional shows. No one knows what to expect from them at Wembley tonight, but strong anticipation is in the air.
People of all ages fill the arena, from seven year olds to forty year olds; everyone looks ready to witness what could be a show of a lifetime.
Thursday finish off an impressive set, getting the crowd extremely hyped up for My Chemical Romance or The Black Parade as they like to be called on this tour!
After about thirty minutes of waiting the lights soon dim and the crowd roars as the sound of a heart monitor fills the arena. Gerard Way (Lead Vocalist) is wheeled out into the centre of the stage on a hospital bed, the audience go wild as the band breaks into ‘The End’. The curtains open to reveal the rest of the guys in their normal positions, Bob Bryar on drums, Ray Toro on lead guitar and backing vocals, Mikey Way on Bass and Frank Iero on rhythm guitar and backing vocals.
My Chemical Romance rip through the entire ‘The Black Parade’ album minus the bonus track ‘Blood’. There’s confetti, smoke, fire, gun shots everything that you would expect from The Black Parade. The crowd is immense, screaming along to every song. No one is taking this show for granted. People in the seating isles all stand up and jump ludicrously to the songs, singing along with Gerard.
With such a big arena it is hard for the performers to still feel connected with the audience but My Chemical Romance have no trouble with this. Everyone feels apart of what seems to be a very theatrical show.
My Chemical Romance finish ‘The Black Parade’ set and Gerard shouts to the crowd “My Chemical Romance are up next if you are into that kind of shit.” The crowd screams with excitement.
My Chemical Romance swarm the stage, after changing out of their Black Parade uniform and jump straight into ‘I’m Not Okay’, The crowd once again goes mad. People that have been queuing for this gig for over thirty hours are going insane, people that have flown over who are jet lagged, are now on a high and amazingly no one even shows slight signs of tiredness.
The energy of My Chemical Romance and the audience is phenomenal. There’s nothing else like it.
After performing a few songs from ‘Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge’ the show is over.
This might well be one of the greatest shows in the history of My Chemical Romance… and I was there!!!
